BEAMS (the Biosphere model integrating Eco-physiological And Mechanistic) provides a new method to calculate the environmental stress affecting plant growth by using global scale satellite and climate data. Amounts of such kind of global scale satellite and climate data are huge and the data are distributed globally, however they can be easily handled on GEO Grid. The simulation results should be well validated with the flux observed at a site, which is difficult to open to the public. GEO Grid provides a secure system for handling such unpublicized data which enables the validation of the result more easily. Furthermore, this model requires computational power, so the model is under the implementation for grid computing.
